This full body and mind workout builds strength, stamina, flexibility, coordination, and body awareness as you attempt to decipher the best way to scale a route. Not sure it’s for you? Don’t be intimidated — rock climbing is a great workout for people of all ages, fitness levels, and climbing experience and our experienced Associates will make sure you stay safe as you enjoy the great indoors.

Portland
Belay Certification Class (ages 13+)
This class will equip new climbers with the basic skills needed to start rock climbing indoors on top-rope. Students will learn gym etiquette, how to use a harness, knots, commands, belaying, and lowering — all necessary skills to pass the Ascent Climbing Center’s top-rope certification test. Class time below and spaces are limited, so reserve a spot today by emailing Zachary at zachary.barnett@bayclubs.com.

Open Climb
If you’re already belay certified, you can join us for our Rock Gym Open Climb on weekdays & weekends! We require every climber to be belay certified and pass our test before you can start climbing.
