Dear Swimmer and Parents,
On behalf of The Bay Club, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Bay Club junior swim team. We are looking forward to a fun and exciting season this summer.
The Bay Club Swim Team Is a part of the Tri-Valley Swim League. We have been very proud to participate in this league for many years. The philosophy of the Tri-Valley Swim League is very much like our philosophy at Bay Club. I would like to share this philosophy with you:
Ultimately, the goal of the Tri-Valley Swim League is that each participant will develop a life long positive attitude towards swimming. During the season individual skill development, goal setting, recreational competition and most importantly, fun will all be stressed. Each swimmer will be encouraged to reach their full potential and be made to feel a part of their team. If an individual champion or winning team is developed along the way … that is fine. However, this is not the main purpose of the league.
The Tri-Valley Swim League believes that a winner is not just the one who finishes first in a race. It is much more than that. Through the competitive experience, everyone can become a “WINNER” by striving towards individual goals and ultimately achieving them. Being the best is not as important as trying your best.
Years from now it is hoped that the swimmers of the Tri-Valley Swim League will look back fondly on the fun they had at practices and meets, the friends they made, the excitement of the competitions, and the successes as well as the disappointments they shared with fellow teammates, coaches and family.
I look forward to seeing everyone by the pool this summer. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at leslie.leroy@bayclubs.com.
Swimmingly,
Leslie LeRoy
Bay Club Swim Team Coordinator
IMPORTANT SWIM TEAM INFORMATION
SWIM TEAM SUITS: Team Suits are mandatory. We do not recommend wearing your team suit to practice. Daily wearing causes the suit to wear out faster. So, if possible please try and purchase some extra practice suits for your swimmer. Team suits will need to purchase through swim team coordinator. SWIM CAPS: Swim caps are mandatory for all female swimmers at meets and during practice. Caps for male swimmers are optional.
SWIM TEAM APPAREL: T-shirts & Caps will be available thru the team.
SWIM TEAM PRICING: Registration will go live on March 1. Members: $325, Non Members $385
REFUNDS: There are NO refunds.
VACATIONS: It is not a problem to miss practice or a meet if the coaches are informed IN WRITING. It is a team policy that if a swimmer is going to miss a meet that the coaches receive written notice by the MONDAY before a Saturday meet. If written notice is not given, the swimmer(s) will be come ineligible to swim in the next meet.

SWIM TEAM START DATE: Monday, May 23. END DATE: Saturday, July 23.
AFTER SCHOOL PRACTICE: Monday – Thursday: May 23 – June 2

MORNING practice Tuesday – Friday:
AFTERNOON practice Monday – Thursday:
DISCIPLINE: Swimmers are expected to behave themselves during practice. They are expected to listen to the coaches and not bother any of the other swimmers around them. Sometimes it will become necessary to remove a swimmer from the water and sit them on the edge. If the behavior persists the coaches will contact the parent and they will be responsible for being on the deck during the swimmer’s practice. If this does not work and the swimmer can still not behave, (s)he will be removed from the team.
LOCKEROOM USAGE: All swimmers are not allowed to use the men’s and ladies lockerooms located inside the club unless they are supervised by a parent!!! A parent or another adult should be present to pick up swimmers after each practice is over. Summer is a very busy time at The Bay Club and it is very disruptive to other members when swimmer is left unsupervised to run around the lockerooms. I strongly encourage each family to have their swimmers use the outdoor locker rooms only. THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION!
DROPPING OFF AND PICK UP FOR PRACTICE: Swimmers under the age of 13 are not allowed to walk themselves to or from the pool. Please do not send them to the Front Desk by themselves – they will not be allowed thru. Parents must walk their swimmers to and from the pool. A parent or another adult must be present at the end of practice to pick the swimmer up. SWIMMERS ARE NOT TO BE IN THE LOCKEROOMS UNATTENDED!!! Swimmers will not be allowed to leave the area without an adult present. This rule has been put in place for the safety of your swimmers and as a courtesy to other members. If there is failure to follow this rule – swimmers may be suspended from the team.
SWIM TEAM FILE FOLDERS: The team has a file folder box. In the box each family has their own file folder. Starting the first week of summer practice the box will be out by the pool at both morning and afternoon practice. Please make sure to check your family file folder periodically. Located in your file you will find directions to away meets, events and team building info, your ribbons from previous meet, etc.
SWIM MEET VOLUNTEERS: A parent from each family is required to work at 2 dual swim meets during the season. If you sign up to work at a meet and do not show up to cover your shift or have someone cover it for you, your child will become ineligible to swim in the next meet! One or both parents will also be required to work at the Championship meet.
BAY CLUB SWIM TEAM TIME TRIAL MEET: On Saturday, June 4th from 9:00am – 12:00pm we will hold a time trial meet for all swimmers on the team. There will be no relays, only individual events. This meet is very important as it allows us to establish base times for the summer. Swimmers will be encouraged to swim in all events. Not only will be able to establish base times for swimmers in all events, but it will give us a chance to run through a meet before the start of the season. I would also like to use it as a time to welcome new families and swimmers to the team.
PICTURE DAY: Friday, June 17, 9-11am at Bay Club Pleasanton. All participants will need to be on the deck at 8:30am. Picture information will be included in your files.
